Overview |
|
From September thru June, the PMI-NEW chapter holds thirteen dinner meetings. At each of these dinner events, the chapter arranges for a speaker to deliver an hour presentation on a project management topic. The chapter also presents a professional development day, with seven to nine speakers, and two full-day events with a speaker. The dinner meetings are the primary means for most members to be involved in the chapter and the speaker's presentation is a central component of those meetings. |

Responsibilities |
|
Working within the assigned budget, this team is responsible for sourcing, screening and selecting speakers for all chapter dinner meetings, special events and the PDD. |
|
Qualifications |
|
An understanding of the skills needed to be a successful project manager. An ability to write accurate, thorough correspondences. An ability to represent the chapter when communicating with potential professional speakers. A desire to perform a vital job for the chapter. |

Time Commitment |
|
Five hours per month during the summer of 2007, one hour per month during the fall, winter and spring of 2007-08. An extra ten hours leading up to the PDD in April. |

Overview |
|
Work to ensure a successful event, enabling project management professionals to learn from renowned speakers in the project management field while earning continuing education credits (PDUs). |
|
Responsibilities |
|
Work with VP of Volunteering to identify and secure team lead roles; Develop a communications management plan; Develop a budget for event; Facilitate communication and assistance with the other directors of PMI-NEW to provide the resources and team members needed to accomplish the tasks; Conduct monthly / weekly status meetings with team leads starting in December, prior to the event year and continuing through to April of event year; Provide monthly status report to President-Elect; Conduct weekly status meetings with team leads through out the month of March & April up to the week of the event; Conduct daily status meetings the week of the event as needed; Commitment level (includes status reports and calls and can vary depending on team members) |

Qualifications |
|
Project coordination skills, communication skills, ability to juggle multiple priorities, ability to work with others, strong organizational skills, and a good sense of humor. |

Time Commitment |
|
September – December prior to event, 4 - 6 hours per month creating Communications Management Plan, Reviewing and updating team task lists and working to fill volunteer roles.
January – March of event year, 12 hours per month
April of event year, 20 - 24 hours managing both days of the event. |
